Biblical Prophecy – Daniel 2:12-13

October 25, 2021 by barry

“The king was furious when he heard this, and he ordered that all the wise men of Babylon be executed. And because of the king’s decree, men were sent to find and kill Daniel and his friends.” Daniel 2:12-13

“Nebuchadnezzar was furious. He knew his men were just trying to buy time, so he gave them an ultimatum: either they would tell him his dream and its interpretation or they would be killed. When they were unable to comply, he gave the order to execute not only them but all the wise men of Babylon. Though Daniel and his friends were not a part of the failed attempt to recount Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, they were counted among the king’s wise men and thus included in the sweeping punishment. Arioch, the king’s executioner, went to find and execute them.

The king’s decree was an attempt by Satan to rid the world of Daniel. A man who determines not to compromise his life usually gets Satan’s attention. But Daniel’s life was in God’s hands, and Satan had no power to end it before God’s sovereign time. Nebuchadnezzar had no hesitation about ordering the death of these men. They seemed to be frauds in spite of their claims to have wisdom drawn from invisible spirits and pagan gods. Unfortunately, this delusion of mystic power has not died in the ages since Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylon. Today we see more and more people, starved for meaning beyond the empty materialism of the age, turning to mysticism, pantheism, and spiritualism to satisfy their spiritual hunger. I found this in my life before I found Jesus or before He found me. It was all a waste of time nothing can take the place of Jesus Christ in your life. I have been walking with Jesus for nearly forty years and it gets better every day.

Satan wants to destroy everyone that is sold out to Jesus Christ. The battle will get more intense as we approach the end times. “And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.”(Revelation 12:11) We have victory in Jesus Christ.
