Biblical Prophecy – Daniel 7:13-14

March 15, 2022 by barry

“As my vision continued that night. I saw someone like the son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into His presence. He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over the nations of the world, so that the people of every race and nation and language would obey Him. His rule is eternal–it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14

We study prophecy so that we know what God has planned for the ones that follow Him. I get excited when I see prophecies like this one. We struggle with the problems of the world but we know that we are not part of this world. God loves us so much that He has such great plans for us. As I write this morning, I feel the presence of God. There is no better feeling in the world than to feel His presence in your life.

The Messiah here is called the Son of man-one like unto the Son of man; for he was made in the likeness of sinful flesh, was found in fashion as a man. He came to pay our debt of sin and to be our Mediator between us and God. Our Savior referred to this vision in John, “And he has given him authority to judge everyone because he is the Son of Man. Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son, and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to experience eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to experience judgment.” (John 5:27-29) The kingdoms of this world will go away and the Kingdom of God will rule the world and will be a Kingdom forever and ever.

The empires of the world were beasts that rose out of the sea; but Christ’s kingdom is from above, he is the Lord from heaven. I think it referred to his ascension; when he returned to the Father the eyes of his disciples followed him, till a cloud received him out of their sight, “After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him.” (Acts 1:9) Only Christ will come with clouds of heaven, and be the King of kings and Lord of lords over all nations throughout eternity.
