“I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me. Look, I will force those who belong to Satan’s synagogue—those liars who say they are Jews but are not—to come and bow down at your feet. They will acknowledge that you are the ones I love.” Revelation 3:8-9
Every congregation, and every individual, is evaluated by God. When we exemplify obedience to the Word of God, we are going to have an open door. The enemy will not be able to defeat us. The Word of God is synonymous with the name and character of God. It’s only when we walk in obedience that we are going to display the character of God in our lives and have the victory.
These religious ‘leaders’ say they are praising God, but they are not. This congregation spoke truth in the situations that they found themselves in – they were not worried about what the public response was going to be; they spoke the truth. This congregation, who Messiah finds so praiseworthy, demonstrate that God loves them. The hope would be that the ‘liars’, when they see the testimony of this congregation, would be convicted, repent and begin to rightly worship God. “In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:16)
At the return of Jesus Christ everyone will worship Him. “Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11) Quite clearly Jesus is reminding the faithful that they will be with Him, as the ungodly are forced to bow before them.
