“Therefore, listen to this, all you nations. Take note of my people’s situation Listen, all the earth! I will bring disaster on my people. It is the fruit of their own schemes because they refuse to listen to me. They have rejected my word.” Jeremiah 6:18-19
Listen, Listen, God is telling the entire earth that they should listen to what He is saying. God sees all things. He sees the evil, crime, injustice, oppression and immorality; they are doom to destruction. God spoke to the world I will certainly bring calamity on this people – the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not heeded My words: This was an important aspect of the guilt of God’s people. They did not heed the word of God, and therefore became corrupt in their thinking. The coming calamity was the fruit of their thoughts. Just as we are today, they wanted to be God and they felt that they were God. “For you said to yourself, ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.” (Isaiah 14:13-14) But, God said they will face the punishment. “Instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead, down to its lowest depths.” (Isaiah 14:15)
It is amazing that these scriptures in Jeremiah could have been written today. They fit so well with what is happening in our nation. Every morning as I read the news I see how another one of our leaders blaspheme God. God can only be patience so long then He will punish sin. I like writing on the positive side of things and there is positive things that relate to our sins. Jesus Christ came to take care of the sin problem. “But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.” (Romans 3:21-22)
